Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted on Westwood Road in Portswood, Southampton.

On October 31st at around 9pm a 35-year-old man got out of his car and started walking when a man came up to him and spoke to him briefly before hitting him twice in the face and fleeing the scene.

The victim lost his Samsung Galaxy mobile phone at the same time but it’s not known if it was stolen.

He managed to drive to his home in Northam but was later taken to the hospital via ambulance and treated for cuts, swelling and bruising to his face.

The attacker has been described as aged around 19, of slim build, clean shaven with short hair and  wearing a light coloured coat.
