AnonSouthampton police have arrested a man in connection with the sexual assault of a 16 year old girl near Southampton Common and Avenue Campus.
The 31 year old local man was arrested at his home address this morning and is being questioned at Southampton Central police station.
The sexual assault of the 16 year old took place on Tuesday 20th August (read the article here).

At about 11.40pm, after separating from her friend, the girl reached the ‘Y’ split in the path close to the underpass under The Avenue, near the university, and Lovers’ Walk. Here an unfamiliar man approached her and carried out the assault. The man then walked off towards the Common and the girl went to her home, where the police were called.
