Even with most students at home for summer, it wouldn’t be Southampton without a small fire to spice up the final weeks in halls.
The smoke alarms went off at 2:53am this morning and all residents were evacuated.
It was only a small fire located in a hallway. St Mary’s fire crews reacted quickly but by the time they arrived the fire was already out. No one was hurt.
An investigation has been launched in to the cause of the fire.
Highfield Halls are located close to Avenue Campus, just a short walk from Highfield Campus.
