Sasha Watson, VP Academic Affairs, said:

Given this is the first time we’re run the awards, they couldn’t have gone much better – it’s been great to see so much student engagement, and involvement, in the process throughout. 663 nominations is an incredible turnout, and just highlights that there are so many great lecturers and support staff here at Southampton that make students’ lives here the great experience that it is. With so many worthy winners, it’s now about trying to showcase this talent and trying to get all lecturers thinking about what students want from teaching – and judging by the night, I think these awards can only grow and grow, and really help drive higher standards for students.
