With campaigning on campus starting at 12pm on Saturday, the Tab tagged along with SUSU Presidential favourite Michelle Dando to see how a successful campaign is run.

STEP 1: RELEASE A CAMPAIGN VIDEO

See it here FIRST! Michelle exclusively gave the Tab access to her first campaign video. Michelle really plays on her qualities in a risque yet enticing video!

STEP 2: PUT UP A BANNER…OR FOUR

EVERYONE loves banners. In campaign week they’re here, they’re there, they’re every-bloody-where, campaign banners, campaign banners. Dando picked the prime locations to show them off, described as an onlooker as:

TOTES hilar. Michelle looks like a GORG girl.

STEP 3: PLAN FOR VICTORY

Kissing Booth

Michelle informed the Tab that she plans to set up a kissing booth outside The Stags next week, as apparently “once someone has kissed me, they never forget me xoxo”, which is how she hopes to reach out to those students who might have been too intimidated by her beauty to engage with.

Bungee Jump

Rumour also has it that Dando is planning to do a bungee jump off the SUSU Shop to show people that she is not only has brains and beauty, but also BALLS OF STEEL, a vital attribute for any Presidential candidate.

STEP 4: CHECK OUT THE OPPOSITION

In an amusing turn of events, fellow presidential candidate Peter “Peewee” Ward’s campaign team was spotted spray painting his name in the middle of the concourse in white, before scarpering. When asked, an unnamed member of his team said:

Nothing to do with us. Must have been an intense yet very local snowstorm. Maybe it’s a sign from the heavens?

That remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure: with the competition hotting up, expect to be dodging bizarrely dressed characters all this week on concourse. We look forward to seeing what the candidates have to offer!
