AU Ball Details Announced

This year’s AU Ball is set to be arranged for the Friday 19th April at St Mary’s Stadium.

After last year’s huge improvement on previous events held at the Guildhall; where numerous complaints were received for its shoddy food, ridiculously priced drinks and lack of atmosphere, St Mary’s will once again host the AU Ball. The venue was much praised last year for being much better value for money and drinks prices much closer to students’ expectations. A change from previous years is that it will be held on a Friday instead of Wednesday, to allow students time to recover the next day without the prospect of hungover lectures.

The AU will be looking on improving certain aspects from the feedback they recieved, including a better PA system and a better experience for non diners when they first arrive. No acts have been confirmed yet, last year regular SUSU DJ Beat a Maxx entertained the sportsmen and women late into the night with his unique brand of video DJing. Previous guest speaker and Southampton alumnus John Inverdale is rumoured to be wanted again (apparently he’s cheap or even possibly free), with Saints legend Matt Le Tissier not likely to be asked after a past late pull-out.
