This was snapped in the cubicle next to the Vice-Chancellor's office!
Similar signs have done the rounds online from other universities, including Swansea. The usual reasoning is that many international students and staff may not be used to Western-style “sitting” toilet. In many parts of Asia and Europe “squatting” style toilets are the norm.
One student told The Tab:
I’m not surprised they introduced these posters. In Glen Eyre there was an international student who didn’t know the difference between the shower and the toilet in his ensuite. In the end they had to get a specialist cleaning crew in to sort out the mess
The University have not yet responded to our enquiries about the bog banners…maybe they poo-pooed our questions?
