Greyhound to be Put Down
Greyhound coaches have reached their final lap.
FirstGroup have reported that as of next month they will be stopping their 4 daily return Greyhound coach services from Southampton to London due to lack of demand.
The coaches were first introduced three years ago to compete against National Express, but sadly this greyhound has lost the race, and will do its final lap next month.
Many students use the service to travel back and forth from London as it is considered more comfortable than National Express and far cheaper than getting the train.
On hearing the news one student told the Soton Tab:
I’m gutted. I always get Greyhound. It’s so cheap and efficient!
In a statement released on the 17th of October the company stated:
I’d like to thank our Solent customers for travelling with Greyhound UK and can assure them that they will continue to enjoy the same quality service right up until we stop operating.
The service will take its last lap of honor on the 17th of November, after which it will sadly be put down.
