UPDATE: 17 YEAR OLD CHARGED with Portswood stabbings

Another day and more scenes of violence on the mean streets of Soton.

A 17 year old boy has been charged with GBH with intent and violent disorder over the spate of stabbings that occurred during the night of the 9th May on Cranbury Avenue.

He cannot be named for legal reasons, but will be appearing at Southampton magistrates court today.

Original article (May 9th):

Four men were last night stabbed in Southampton on Cranbury Avenue, only a couple of hundred yards from the popular curryhouse Tariq Manzils and the Bevois Valley nightclubs.

The attacks are believed to be targeted and a 19 year old man from London has since been arrested.

Detective Inspector Ellie Hurd has since said:

We’d like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area of Cranbury Avenue late last night.
We’d also like to reassure the public that we believe this was a targeted and not random attack. There is a possibility that more people were involved and have been injured in some way.

If anyone has any information that may help the investigation please call 101.

The attack continues a worrying trend of violence in the area after the burned body of a man was found in a Portswood bin.

We will bring you more news as it develops.
