At 4.30 this morning, the peace and quiet of Burgess Road was disturbed with the buzzing of police cars, as cops filled the area to carry out a drug raid on a marijuana factory!
Police were called to the scene after reports of a shady individual hanging around the back of a house, on what was originally a suspected burglary. On arriving at the property, using a tracker dog police discovered a huge cannabis growing organisation in operation.
A 39 year old male has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, to be questioned sometime today.
Meanwhile, police are working with the local electricity board to make the property safe, after it has been tampered with for cannabis growing. Also, potheads across Southampton are quietly cursing at the destruction of the source of their ambrosia.
