The sexy new team

If you can see through the hangover induced by last nights election party (or the themed nights at SOBAR and Jesters, we’re not particular here) its time to have a quick recap on who won what. And as we’re such meek and mild individuals, we’re taking all and any credit for them winning/losing/looking like complete idiots. Our predictions may not have stacked up 100% but we were pretty darned close.

VP Comms: We said Chloe, the voters said Dave. With my 20/20 hindsight, it was pretty obvious that SUSU insider Gilani was much more likely to win it. Covering this race created a massive debate in our comment section, and that’s what we love!

VP Welfare: Bang on the money with Chloe G, but she was then quite rude about us on the Wessex Scene so I’m saying no more.

VP Engagement: Shane smashed it in the first of a full house of re-elections. Toilet-flooder Natalie Ralph came third in a bit of a shock, but there’s no surer way to win votes than walking around singing a song, eh Rob?

VP Academic: Another correct prediction for us, Sasha winning, but with Sophie Kamperis coming second and not the stronger candidates Rachel or Oli. Bit odd.

VP Sports: An enormously close race with Dean triumphing by only 33 votes! Laura Gottlieb managed to secure the most first votes, but the wonders of AV transfers put Dean into post.

President: Sam won. By miles. He secured roughly two thirds of the 6,500 odd votes but Simon took defeat very graciously…some may say drunkenly.

Zack Young won a trustee spot, as did his friend Emma Miles, flying in the face of Dave Howell’s orders. Rupert Bailey was elected and friend of The Tab Peter “PeeWee” Ward came in first place. Li Li and Josh Cox both won, nuff said.

We at The Tab would like to say thanks to all of you readers who came to us for your election coverage. Hopefully we’ve even managed to convince some of you to take more of an interest in SUSU goings on!
