Here at The Tab we know what students love: gossip, scandal and rumour. Last year’s SUSU Sabbatical elections had plenty of that. This year, who knows? With nominations opening tomorrow, we will have to wait and see what candidates our union can produce. As with last year, we’ve done some sniffing around to see who may or may not be running…

  • Sam Ling, re-running
  • Still no one!

VP Academic Affairs: The Sabb who sorts out your lecturers when they step out of line.

  • Sasha Watson, re-running
  • Rachel Stockey, Humanities Officer
  • Sophie Kamperis, Biological Sciences President

VP Comms: SUSU’s very own Rupert Murdoch, controller of the media.

  • David Gilani, Surge Station Manager
  • Chloe Richardson, SUSU promo team

VP Sports Development: Formerly known as AU president, this Sabb is the one all AU teams beg for money

  • Sion Roberts, Extreme Watersports AU Representative
  • Dean Jones, Sport and Health Officer
  • Jocelyn Makin
  • Laura Gottlieb

VP Student Engagement: Head of most SUSU volunteering: JCRs, RAG and societies.

  • Shane Murphy, re-running
  • Natalie Ralph, Union Films manager
  • Rob Leane, Alternative and Indie Music (AIM) Society President

VP Welfare and Communities: Hands out condoms and housing advice

  • Chloe Green, Equality and Diversity Officer
  • Vadims “Frank” Sondors, Student Enterprise Officer
  • Simon Eyles, JCR Officer. Not running for Student Engagement as previously reported
  • Nick Johnson

Editor’s Note: This list is not exhaustive and is only based on rumour. Some credit must go to the Portswood Press who have been compiling a list since January. As always, right of reply is offered. Do you know of anyone running? Let us know in the comments!
