This brand new app will tell you which Sheffield pubs are re-opening from April 12th

Who else is buzzing?

| UPDATED

A new app detailing all of Sheffield’s beer gardens set to re-open from 12 April has been launched.

Bevvi includes a virtual map that focuses specifically on student areas Crookesmoor and Broomhall. It also lets you share your location with friends so you can find places to go and socialise in a post-Covid world.

Thomas Whale, the man behind the app, told The Sheffield Tab: “After Boris Johnson’s announcement that pubs can soon reopen, I found myself frantically searching to find the best place for a pint ready for April 12th. I imagine Sheffield students are feeling the same.”

You can check out his virtual map here:

Sheffield’s pubs have been shut since going into Tier 3 restrictions in December 2020, meaning they’ll have been shut for almost five months before the April re-opening.

Whale says the app will soon be able to help users find places judging by their current location, and hopes to extend its service UK-wide.

Whale told The Sheffield Tab: “We are looking to create a one-stop-shop for your night out. If you are having a beer in the pub, you tap the Bevvi button to let your mates know and anyone nearby can join you – we all know spontaneous nights are the best!

“If planning is more your thing, you can create an event and invite anyone you want to join, whether they have Bevvi or not.”

Unfortunately, the day pubs are open just happens to be a Monday. Thanks Boris.
