The Leadmill is finally re-opening and we can’t wait

Fear not freshers, all is not lost

Legendary Sheff nightclub, The Leadmill, has announced it will be opening its doors again for a Freshers’ Special night of 2010 bangers.

In the venue’s 40th year of opening, this return after five long months marks the end of the longest closure that the venue has ever had.

Although events will be seated and socially distanced, The Leadmill said: “The very core of what makes our entertainment unbeatable remains the same. We promise this will be a fantastic reminder of life before lockdown.”

The music on offer is described by The Leadmill themselves as pure “nostalgia-fueled bangers”, from the days of “YMCMB snapbacks, Habbo Hotel, Nudging on MSN, The Harlem Shake and un-ironically saying YOLO”.

It comes following Arctic Monkey’s frontman Alex Turner donating his guitar to The Leadmill to help them stay afloat over the pandemic, as the club joined Corp in being at risk of closure.

The event will take place on September 21, with doors at 11pm.
