Sheffield crash: School bus crashes into barbers with 21 children aboard

‘I’m lost for words’

Two children have been taken to hospital after a school bus crashed into a Sheffield barbers.

Emergency crews were called to Handsworth, a south east suburb, at around 7.50am on Wednesday morning after the vehicle collided with 21 pupils on board.

None were seriously injured but two were hospitalised and a further 17 were “walking wounded”, the fire service said.

Three ambulances and three paramedic response cars attended, the BBC reported.

The bus was ferrying the children to Sheffield Girls’ High School and Birkdale School in Broomhill.

Shop owners were left aghast as they arrived at work to find debris strewn across the pavement and the barbers, called Stay Fresh, ripped to pieces.

Stacey Swift, its owner, fears she has “lost everything” less than a year after opening.

“I can’t believe it. I’m lost for words,” she said.
