Skint and stressed? Here’s how you can win Pop Tarts, Roar and TTC tickets for next week

The auction we need but don’t deserve

Even though most of us are at the point where we need to save a bit of cash before Christmas, we could all do with a night out.

Luckily the Geography Society have our backs, and are giving away tickets for the holy trinity of The Tuesday Club, Roar, and Pop Tarts next week.

It's all part of the Society's charity auction 12 Days of GeogSoc Christmas, which got underway on Thursday. Prizes so far have included a free cake and a map of the world, but next week sees things stepped up a notch.

As well as the free club night tickets, up for grabs over the next week are a free coffee at Coffee Revs, a free drink giving you the perfect excuse to go to Bar One "for one", and even a GeogSoc mug if you don't have enough mugs in your life as it is.

Of course, you've got to be in it to win it, and tickets for the auction can be bought here.

WOW! How is that for chance?Jack Richardson wins the giveaway again – showing that buying your ticket means you can…

Entry is £2, but will cover you for every remaining day of the auction and unbelievably one student has already won twice – so who knows, you might land yourself a Roar ticket and one of the Students' Union's finest coffees to cure your hangover the next day.

All money raised will be split between the Cathedral Archer Project, which does vital work in helping homeless and vulnerable people in Sheffield, and mental health charity Sheffield Mind.

GeogSoc President Jake Verity told The Sheffield Tab: "We want to give something back to all of the students of Sheffield at Christmas time whilst helping two excellent charities.

"It's important we make a difference to people's lives who need that helping hand, but also give students something to smile about at a stressful time of the year."

It's been a big couple of months for GeogSoc, with the success of the mental health based #YouAreSomeonesWorld campaign in addition to a packed out talk from Sheffield Lord Mayor Magid Magid.

The Society is also hosting a charity Christmas auction, which is open both to the most committed of geographers and those who have never picked up a crayon in their life.

Tickets are £5 and will secure you pizza, Prosecco and nibbles on entry. Half of ticket proceeds will be split between Cathedral Archer Project and Mind, and remaining tickets are available here.
