Police are appealing for witnesses after a 20-year-old man was knocked over outside the Alfred Denny building

He’s in a life threatening condition in hospital


Police are appealing for information after a 20-year-old man was knocked down near the University of Sheffield's Alfred Denny building.

The collision happened on Brook Hill, near to the pelican crossing, at around 10.30am on Tuesday (27th February).

It's believed that a DAF skip truck was involved in the collision.

The truck then travelled down the hill towards the roundabout, outside the IC.

The 20-year-old is now in hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

The driver of the truck, a 51-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, but he's been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
