University of Sheffield named in top 100 best universities in the world

They’re up two places on last year

The University of Sheffield has been named as the 82nd best University in the world, according to QS rankings.

The QS league table is an annual publication which outlines which the best Universities in the world are and is seen as one of the most highly respected league tables in the world.

This year, Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the USA was named as the best University in the world.

Cambridge was named as the fifth best in the world, with Oxford in sixth, University College London in seventh and Imperial College London in eighth.

Sheffield still beat the likes of Nottingham, Birmingham and St Andrews to the post, however.

Unfortunately, Hallam was unranked in the top 1,000 universities.
