It’s taking place at 5pm

There is going to be a vigil held this afternoon for the victims of the Manchester attacks which happened on Monday.

It will be held outside the Sheffield University SU building, on the concourse, from 5pm until 8pm.

SU President, Dom Trendall, will be speaking at the vigil, before leading a minute of silence.

The SU said that their hearts go out to those effected by the attack, which happened on Monday at an Ariana Grande concert. They also thanked the emergency services for their incredible work.

So far, 22 people were tragically killed in the attack, one of whom was a woman from Sheffield.

Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital and Children’s Hospital are also on standby this bank holiday weekend in the case of another terrorist attack.
