All the best places to procrastin-eat in Sheffield

Escape the IC and head to one of these beauties

Are you stuck in the IC doing that essay at the last minute? Are you feeling nervous for your exams? Are your housemates stressing you out at this especially tense time of year?

Well fear not, as we’ve put together a truly scrumptious list of the best places in Sheffield to go for some truly fit looking food whilst you put off revision for yet another day.

Steam Yard

Steam Yard is a Sheffielder’s Aladdin’s cave full of kronuts (pictured above), donuts, fronuts (ice cream dough nuts), macarons, oozy grilled cheese, coffee served in a waffle cone (bit weird but a great Instagram) and the best brownies I’ve ever eaten. Everything tastes as good as it looks, including their vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.Find it off Division Street on Aberdeen Court.

Bragazzis

Nestled slightly away from the city centre on Abbeydale Road, Bragazzis is worth travelling for. This cafe/deli is perfect for clued-up foodies who recognise quality ingredients and the immense care put into everything they serve and sell.

7 Hills Bakery

This bakery on Sharrow Vale Road specialises in artisan sourdough bread, but also serves a variety of sweet and savoury pastries, sourdough pizzas and other dishes that aim to make their bread the star of the show. Past specials have included rhubarb and rose croissants, blood orange and semolina cake, pumpkin focaccia, and gluten-free, dairy-free orange bundt cakes.

Twisted Burger Company @ The Harley

There’s a few burger joints on this list, but Twisted Burger Company is one of the probably the most original and certainly the most fun. As well as their main pun-filled menu of burgers (“Everything is Hallouminated” – halloumi burger, grilled aubergine, smoked red pepper ketchup ) and topped fries (“Pig Pimpin Fries” – pulled pork, manchego cheese sauce), they also do a bargain £5 mixtape meal deal with a customisable burger and fries. Cheaper than McDonald’s and far more worthy of a cheeky Insta. They are also launching their new menu on 9th May 2017, so get down there for a good revision break.

Marmadukes

This bakery and cafe on Norfolk Row serves freshly made cheesecakes, brownies and other bakeables made with the best quality ingredients. Their cafe menu is perfect for brunch or lunch, serving dishes like scotch pancakes with peanut butter, banana, mascarpone, and nut brittle, as well as classics like eggs florentine and posh ‘campfire’ beans on toast.

Lucky Fox

Foodie Instagrams don’t come much more impressive than the insane milkshakes served at Lucky Fox. If you don’t fancy the four day sugar rush, their waffles (served with fried chickens or berries and cream) also prove very photogenic and are available all day.

The Depot Bakery

This bakery supplies their creations all across Sheffield, including Steam Yard and Tamper Coffee. Bit of a trek out of the city centre on Burton road, but well worth it.

Craft & Dough

A greasy Domino’s might not be very instagrammable, but the artisan pizza offerings from Craft & Dough certainly are. They might not be delivered to your door, but their two locations at Ecclesall and Kelham Island ensure they’re never too far away.

Let’s Sushi

This cafe on Division Street makes all of their sushi fresh every day, and has a fridge full of ready-to-go options if you need a quick aesthetically pleasing lunch.

Bungalows And Bears

This well-known, cosy bar and restaurant at the end of Division Street is the best for comfort food, serving up mac n cheese, burgers and a warm cookie pizza, plus they now do an amazing brunch. Don’t forget 2 for 1 burgers on Tuesdays as well!!

Upshot Espresso

An exceptional range of artisan coffee and tea blends can be found on Glossop Road, plus brunch and bakes.

Forge Bakehouse

Croissant roses for Valentine’s Day? Yes please. They also do a proper Valrhona hot chocolate with a giant homemade raspberry marshmallow. A delicious find on Abbeydale Road.

Ink and Water

The unique concept of a design agency and coffee shop shouldn’t really work, but Ink and Water pull it off seamlessly. Try the affogato made with Our Cow Molly ice cream.
