ROAR played Darude’s classic banger ‘Sandstorm’ 55 times last night

Marie-Elise WorswickROAR, the SU’s night out for sport teams, played Darude’s ‘Sandstorm’ 55 times last night.
They dedicated the whole of Fusion to playing the classic night out track, and even had a counter on the TV to show how many times they’d played it.
Rory McTaverstock, the ROAR Mascot, said: “Everyone knows that tigers love Darude ‘Sandstorm’, so I couldn’t wait to play my favourite song 55 times on repeat for all my ROAR friends.”
ROAR-goers have said it caused so much carnage that security guards had to keep swapping in and out to deal with the mayhem. And if a whole three and a half hours of the song wasn’t enough, the final song to be played in the main room was…..you guessed it, Darude ‘Sandstorm’.
ROAR, best known for its crazy themes (they held a Harambe themed night last term), is the stomping ground of sports teams, and is known for being the loosest and most chaotic night out at Sheffield SU.
Speaking to people that were there, a member of the Cheerleading squad said: “It was the epitome of carnage, however I don’t want to listen to that song for a long, long time. It was absolutely mad.”
Another sports player who also went along said: “That song has been going round and round in my head all morning, and it’s not helping with my hangover.”
