These Sheffield alumni love stories will melt your heart

One couple met at the Corp Skool Disco

If you were feeling a little romanced-out after Valentine’s day, Sheffield Alumni were here with some heart warming stories of couples who met at the University of Sheffield.

The album of 12 pictures were uploaded on the morning of Valentines Day, and featured stories of people all around the world who met the love of their lives whilst at uni in Sheffield.

They ranged from people who had been married for 25 years, to people who are just moving in together after university, and some of them could bring a tear to even the iciest of hearts.

One couple met 31 years ago in the Notty House, and now their daughter is also studying at the University of Sheffield. Another got married in 2015 after having their first kiss in Corp (and they say romance is dead), whilst Jorge and Charis got married in Weston Park after meeting in the Mappin building.

The comments from other alumni were equally as gooey, with Doreen telling us how she’d met her husband on Sheffield RAG day in 1954 and had been together ever since, and Angela said “We met in Bar one in 2006 in my final year of uni. Been together over 10 years and married in 2013!”.

There was also a story from two International Exchange Students who had met their future partner at Manchester Airport whilst taking part in Sheffield’s “Meet and Greet” for Erasmus students and are now married and living in Mexico with a baby girl.

Love, actually, is all around…
