Teenager seriously injured after altercation in Area nightclub

He has serious injuries to his face and mouth


A 17-year-old boy has been seriously injured after an altercation in Area nightclub, near John Lewis, on Burgess Street.

The attack happened at around 1.10am on Sunday 5th February, and has left the teenager with serious facial injuries.

His attacker is believed to be a white male in his early 20s, about 6ft 2ins tall, with a stocky build and brown hair. He is believed to have been wearing a light coloured T-shirt at the time of the attack.

Area nightclub opened at the beginning of the Autumn semester and boasts being “Sheffield’s Newest Superclub” with four different rooms of music and entertainment.

Police are wanting to speak to anyone who was in the club at that time, or who witnessed the attack.
