Robert FirthSheffield students are the third hardest working in the UK, according to a report by NatWest.
They devoted an average of 35.08 hours a week to studying, compared to the national average of 30.77 hours. The only universities where students spent more hours in the library were Oxford and Cambridge.
Sheffield students spent eight hours more a week on their degree than those at Liverpool, seven more hours a week than those at Leeds and five hours more a week than those at Manchester. The biggest slackers were students at Leicester who devote a measly 24.32 hours a week to their degree. That’s almost half Cambridge student’s 47.62 hours a week.
Just because we work hard doesn’t mean we’re no fun though. The study also found Sheffield students spend nearly eight hours a week socialising: more than those at Cambridge and Oxford.
It’s probably because they don’t have Tank to go to on a Monday night.
