Sheffield student sexually assaulted near Endcliffe Village

The attack happened in the early hours of Thursday morning


A 19-year-old student was sexually assaulted in the early hours of Thursday morning less than a mile from Endcliffe Student Village.

The attack happened on Westbourne Road at around 3.15am.

The police have assured the public that they have stepped up patrols in the area and are also working closely with the University to reassure students.

Westbourne Road is often used as a shortcut for students walking from Endcliffe Village into uni, and is just a stone’s throw from Crewe flats and Stephenson Hall.

The attacker is described as a white male and aged 18 to early 20s. He is described as being about 5ft 8ins – 5ft 10ins tall and wearing a black hooded top and black trousers. It’s believed he approached the woman from behind, before assaulting her and running away from the scene.
