BPOC of the week: Roo the dwarf hamster

He’ll melt your heart

| UPDATED

Meet Roo, the miniature dwarf hamster, this week’s not so big BPOC (big pet on campus).

Roo is the tiniest resident of Crookesmoor Road, but what this hammie lacks in size, he makes up for in sass. With a die hard desire to escape, and a distaste for human contact this little rodent loves to play hard to get.

Name: Roo

Age: 6 months

Breed: Roborovski dwarf hamster

Look at his little face

Colour: Likes to think he’s ‘fawn’ but he’s grey

Relationship status: Recently got out of a long distance relationship, resting heart til ready to love again (but pretty desperate so will take most things)

Loves: Running on his loud, squeaky wheel at night-time

Likes: Hiding in his cage when we want to show him to friends

Hates: Humans looking at him, humans touching him, humans picking him up … humans in general

Favourite food: Grapes cut into small slices and fed directly into his mouth

Hobbies: Running away

Goal in life: To run away

Motto in life: ‘Head behind the washing machine, they’ll never find you there’
