The University of Sheffield snapchat filter has a typo

How have we never spotted this before?

It’s emerged that one of the Sheffield university geo filters has ‘University’ spelt wrong.

The Snapchat filter has been popular amongst students ever since it was launched, especially in documenting all nighters pulled at the IC, but somebody pointed out on social networking site “Yik Yak” that University was actually spelt “Univeristy”

A pretty savage comment from the binoculars…

This is a pretty ironic mistake seeing as it’s meant to represent a well established academic institution. It’s bad enough that it was spelt incorrectly in the first place, but that it has taken over 27,000 of us that attend UoS this long to realise the blunder as well.

It’s just not on, thought the Univeristy student…

As you can imagine, people are in shock at this revelation, with some worrying about the quality of their education from people who can’t even spell their own institution’s name.

Lorna, a first year English student, said “Oh god, what a shambles!” and suggested they removed it before the undergraduate open days in the summer as it was just “embarrassing”.

I guess this is karma for always thinking we were better than Hallam…
