Pop World has been voted the worst club in the UK

But what about the free toast?

In a national student survey, Pop World has been branded the worst club in the United Kingdom.

Shock waves have hit Sheffield today, as the Pop World chain of clubs have been declared the worst in the UK, in a poll of over 1,500 by AccommodationforStudents.com.

Bafflingly, despite its light up dance floor and impressive array of cheesy tunes, Pop World pipped many other nights out to the post, including the likes of Forum in Nottingham, Space in Leeds, and the particularly rogue entry of Acapulco in Halifax.

Not even their sparkly hats could redeem them

For many the novelty fancy dress, endearing locals and free toast have always been a winning combination for Carver Street fun, but sadly just not enough to save Pop World from this unfortunate accolade.

Laura Bell, an English second year, devout lover of all things cheesy, and passionate advocate of Pop World Sheffield, was outraged at the news.

She said:  “A trip to Pop World is a spiritual experience, that clearly some people just don’t understand. Where else can you dance to The Makarena with a VK in hand, and drown out the stresses of uni life?

“Where else can you get your fix of retro- pop if you’re not willing to fight the mobs of Sheffield students for a Pop Tarts ticket?

“I am disappointed in the country for not understanding its greatness, and giving this hallowed club such a shameful title.”

It’s just not pop tarts

Unfortunately for Pop World, the rest of the UK just didn’t seem to share Laura’s enthusiasm.
