Sheffield is getting a Bierkeller

Get the steins in

Hit bavarian bar chain Bierkeller have announced their arrival in Sheffield later this month.

The cult beer haven will be opening on 30th November at the bottom of West Street, replacing former sports night haunt Vault, which shut unexpectedly at the start of the year.

With seven days a week opening and a 3am license, steins and novelty lederhosen will be available all round the clock.

The Facebook page already promises Monday quiz nights, Karaoke Tuesdays, and a “Man V Wurst challenge” every Thursday.

With Bierkeller already operating in Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool and Cardiff the Sheffield expansion is long overdue.  Jack, 20, said: “Wearing lederhosen on a night out will definitely be different, but I’m up for it nonetheless”.

Some of us, however, are still coming to terms with Vault’s demise. Izzy Raine, a Politics second year said: “Vault was the highlight of any bar crawl, the cheapest and best place to get drunk. Bierkeller won’t have five pound rounds.

“Nobody wants to drink gassy, expensive beer before Roar. We want vodka that burns and VKs that dye our vomit.”
