A new nightclub called ‘Arch 9’ has opened its doors in Sheffield

It’s under the Wicker Arches

A new nightclub has been built under Sheffield’s Wicker Arches, boasting some big names in house music.

Arch 9 is licensed from 9am to 5am, and bizarrely runs as a cafe by day, before converting into a club in the evenings.

One of the club’s co-owners Spencer Fearn told The Sheffield Star he hopes to “put Sheffield back on the map in terms of house music”, and is “looking forward to bringing some big dance acts to the city”.

True to his word, the club is already promising an impressive line up, with  DJ sets from Clean Bandit, Dale Howard and Leftwing and Kody already in the pipelines.

The new venue has two floors as well as an outdoor mezzanine, and the capacity to hold up to 515 people.

Anna Parry, an English finalist and lover of the Sheffield house music scene, said: “I literally cannot wait to go.

“They have Clean Bandit booked for a DJ set, which is fairly sick. I’ll definitely be heading down to that one.”

Anna’s excitement seems to be echoed in the reviews of those who have already visited Arch 9.

Ravers have said it is a “banging nightclub”and that “the sound system knocks your socks off.”

The student night ‘Vision’ is every Thursday, and is run by Voodoo events.
