She was run over while walking with her boyfriend

A drunk driver has been charged with causing the death of Bryony Hollands last Friday.

The Sheffield Music fresher died in hospital after a car veered off the road and ran over her and her boyfriend in Nottingham.

Thomas Burney, 26, appeared in court earlier charged with death by dangerous driving.

He is also charged with injuring Bryony’s boyfriend, Ben Evans, by dangerous driving and driving over the legal alcohol limit.

Bryony dreamed of a career in music therapy

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 10 September.

Ben Evans was seriously injured in the crash and remains in a stable condition in hospital.

Bryony’s Dad paid tribute to the much loved fresher yesterday, telling The Nottingham Post: “Those that knew her will remember a young lady with a smile that would light up the room, an infectious laugh, a cheeky giggle.

“She lit up the lives of those she met. Our loss is their loss too and the loss of those who will never know her. Our Bryony.”
