We beat Oxbridge in the latest uni league tables

Great effort team

Sheffield has taken a very impressive 12th place in the recently released WhatUni league tables, up a massive 28 places from last year’s result.

We came 12th out of 113 unis, leaving many of the other Russell Groups for dead, including both Oxford and Cambridge who ranked 25th and 29th respectively.

Hallam managed to drop thirty places down to 93rd, which is obviously a really great effort too.

Unlike other uni league tables, the WhatUni rankings are based on actual student reviews of their experiences.

They consider accommodation, city life, clubs and societies, job prospects, lecturers and facilities, and students’ union, and with an all round score of 4.23/5, it’s fair to say we excel at them all.

Beating us to the top spot were Loughborough, and a few wild cards like Bangor, East Anglia, and Swansea. We also took in bronze for the Russell Group overall, being the third highest ranked after Bath and Glasgow.
