Police appeal for witnesses after girl attacked in Crookes

The victim was making her way back from the SU

A 23 year old Sheffield student was allegedly attacked in Crookes on Monday night.

The incident, on Roslin Road, just off Crookesmoor, is thought to have taken place between 8 and 8.30pm on Monday.

The attack took place on Roslin Road, off Crookesmoor

The victim told police that she became aware of an unknown male following her up Northumberland Road.

As she moved onto Roslin Road, the attacker grabbed her round the waist and then as she began to scream and struggle, ran off down Crookesmoor Road.

“The police came round door knocking asking if anyone saw anything. Apparently it was right outside my house” said Roslin Road resident and third year Economist Charlotte Bristowe.

“It’s pretty scary. Especially because Ii thought our road was meant to be really decent” she said.

Charlotte thought her road was safe

The male is thought to be white, slim, and in his 20s, with a round face. He was also described as wearing a dark coloured hooded top tied tightly round the face, and dark trousers or jeans.

Any witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call 101.
