Police call for witnesses to sexual assault In Endcliffe

Police are calling for witnesses to a reported serious assault that took place in the early hours of Saturday.

Police tape has again covered Endcliffe Village after a report of a serious sexual assault on an 18 year old woman.

The incident is thought to have taken place between 3:00am and 5:00am on Saturday morning around the areas of Endcliffe Vale Road, Endcliffe Park, Botanical Gardens and Clarkehouse, and foliage areas surrounding Endcliffe Hotel and Millstone block were cordoned off with police tape.

Millstone resident Jade reported seeing a heavy police presence around the area when leaving her flat at 9:30am.

South Yorkshire Police have released a statement describing the suspect as a white man with strawberry blonde or light brown hair, in early to mid twenties and of slim build. He’s thought to be around 5ft8ins and wearing dark clothes at the time of the incident.

UPDATE

Police have questioned two men in connection with the assault.

A 24 year old man is currently being questioned by Detectives, while a 32 year old man, arrested on Tuesday, has been released on bail.
