They’re at it again: lecturers call second day of strikes

It’s another day off for students as staff walk out over pay

| UPDATED

University lecturers accross the country have voted to take part in a second day of strike action on December 3rd.

Having already gone on strike over pay once this term, uni staff are set to walk out next month if the current “pay row is not resolved”.

Last month’s strike fell on Halloween, so after the frightening strike comes the festive one as profs look forward to Crimbo.

Whilst some students will enjoy another day off as staff call off lectures and tutorials, others will be further infuriated by losing another day of teaching that they have paid for.

Lecturers’ trade union, the University and College Union (UCU), has called the strike, and will be joined by union heavyweights Unison, Unite, and EIS, Scotland’s largest teaching union.
