Royal Holloway won the award for the best Cyber Security Education Programme in Europe, by SC Awards 2017.

Royal Holloway has been recognised as a world-leading interdisciplinary research group committed to research and education in information security and computer science.

Royal Holloway's BSc Computer Science programme is also the first degree programme that has a GCHQ certificate in the UK.

GCHQ is the UK’s intelligence and security service that deals with cyber security, and GCHQ certification of degree programmes gives guidance to prospective students and employers on content and quality, and distinguish between, different qualifications.

Professor Paul Hogg, Vice-Principal and Dean of Science, said that they were very thrilled to be the first university in the UK to have a programme certificated by GCHQ.
