Royal Holloway moves from 37th to 34th place in UK uni rankings

We’re going up in the world

The 2018 university rankings have just been announced, and RHUL has moved from 37th to 34th place, according to The Complete University Guide. This means we beat some Russell Group universities, such as Queen’s University Belfast and Cardiff, and other London universities such as Brunel and Goldsmiths.

The survey is based on entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality, research intensity and graduate prospects amongst other things. Our student satisfaction score is on the higher end of the scale at 4.13 oout of 5, the same as Oxford’s. Our research quality was also judged quite highly, on par with universities such as Nottingham and Newcastle (3.09 out of 4). Varsity rival Surrey beat us once again coming in at 13th place; however, not on the quality of our research.

Three places is quite a big movement in just a year, and is the result of hard work from students and the College itself. Plus it means we can boast a little bit more on those prospectus’.
