Portsmouth students are the richest in the UK

The NatWest student living survey results are out and Portsmouth students have been ranked the richest in the UK.

This is measured by a variety of income sources, parents, student loan, banks, etc. Portsmouth got an average of £1,516.98 per semester, much higher than the national average of £1,192.15.

Liverpool and Newcastle took the following podium places with students there getting an average of £1,425.01 and £1,421.36 respectively per semester, and those at Sheffield seem to be struggling the most with an average of £934.98 per semester.

In fact, Portsmouth has been ranked the most cost effective city in the UK for students, with an average weekly rent of £101.61, below the national average.

This being said, you guys definitely like to spend, as Portsmouth students spend the fifth most in the UK on clothes shoes and accessories, at an average of £9.18 a week, £1.83 higher than the national average.
