We had 105 Nominations for the Oxford Tab Power List

Seriously, guys

Three weeks ago, we asked you to nominate the biggest BNOCs in Oxford – the future prime ministers, the unforgettable characters, the magazine editors, the all-round good eggs. In those three weeks, we had 105 responses. This was enough to crash my laptop. Multiple times. Thanks guys.

Responses were varied, both in detail and subject. Reasons included ‘power’, ‘ultimate hack’, ‘true memelord’ and ‘You’ll see’. We’ve got political BNOCs, kings of the sesh, tailcoat wearers and media legends, doing basically nothing to dispel the common myth Oxford is the most eccentric place on Earth.

Let’s have some statistics. 105 separate responses produced 81 different individual contenders: the most nominations for a single person was 6, either proving the individual’s legendary status, or a single submission-happy friend. The most frequent subjects were PPE, law, classics and medicine, while second and third years predominated by far.

It hardly comes as a surprise that PPE was the most popular subject: but just as there can only be one prime minister, there can only be one person who tops the Oxford Tab Power List. Look out for voting soon.
