Oxford crowned second best university in the UK

The 2016 uni rankings placed us above LSE, Imperial and St Andrews

Oxford has been ranked the second best university in the UK.

The rankings, from the Complete University Guide, saw us beat the likes of LSE, Imperial and St Andrews.

Cambridge took the top spot, in a top five which has remained unchanged since last year.

It could be worse though – Oxford Brookes came in at 65th, below Bangor and the “University for the Creative Arts”.

The annual rankings are based on a criteria including student satisfaction, entry standards, research quality and intensity and the student: staff ratio.

Other factors are the universities spending on academic services and student facilities, good honour degrees achieved and graduate prospects and completion.
