The Oxford crew for the 2016 Boat Race has been announced

The official Crew Announcement and Weigh-in took place on March 1, 24 days ahead of the race. The Light Blues may be heavier on average, but our Oxford crews are not willing to let victory slide. Last year, the Dark Blues won the men’s, women’s and reserve races; an enormous achievement to commemorate the first year that both women and men raced on the same day since the races began in 1829.

The 2016 Cancer Research UK Boat Races will kick off Sunday 27 March 2016, with the Women’s Boat Race at 3:10pm, followed by The Boat Race an hour later. The event takes place on the River Thames in South West London, with numerous spectator opportunities along the riverbank.

Last year the Oxford Women secured their 12th victory in 16 years. Their 2016 coach, Christine Wilson, boasts an impressive coaching history, as former assistant coach to the US Women’s Olympic Team as well as coaching university and school teams. This is Christine’s fourth season as Coach, and her team is, as of yet, undefeated.
