Car chase culminates at Catz

Wednesday night drama

Police arrested two men in the St Catz car park last night.

At half past nine last night, three police cars and two vans raced into St Catherine’s College car park, in pursuit of another car. It’s believed that the two men in the car were trying to escape from a police chase, when they took an unfortunate turning.

With nowhere to go after reaching the dead end, the men left their vehicle and tried to escape, as several policemen, accompanied by two dogs searched the parameters of the car park.

The two men were quickly apprehended and after a few final checks the police and their dogs departed.

Students were alerted to the incident by the dogs barking, shouting and the flashing sirens. However the incident was dealt with quickly, and it is not thought that the college, or the members, were in any way affected or involved. The JCR have been reassured that there is no reason to be concerned.
