The Tab goes to Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair

We couldn’t resist another bargain

Once again it was Lou Lou’s Vintage fair on Saturday, pulling in the short fringed, red lipstick marked, fur-coat-clad hoards (no offence intended, I pretty much just described myself).

The event once again proved popular, with a sizeable queue still spilling down the town hall steps – the most apt of costume drama settings.

There were many on trend bargains to be had. Despite the half an hour I spent trying on the coolest of winged sunglasses, I managed to find some of the seasons key pieces.

If you want to channel the oriental influences seen at Celine and Alexander McQueen in their latest collections, this fabulous ensemble is just the trick. Add an obi belt to bring it right up to date.

The seventies were the era most emulated in the SS15 shows, and this mini shimmering swing dress ticks all the boxes.

Blue denim hasn’t gone out of style since the 50s, even if it was rejuvenated this season. As always, denim jackets, skirts and jeans are never in more abundance, or as satisfyingly cheap, as at a vintage market.

If the musty fragrance of the second hand isn’t your cup of tea, there are the more recent additions from the 90s. Take this wavey purple crop top for instance, perfect for those trips to Supermarket.

The Vintage fair can be the most spectacular place to find that perfect ball dress you’ve been looking for, for half the price. This amazing maxi dress from the 1960s was only £30 and in perfect condition, complete with the original box it came in.

If you missed it this time, do not fear; Lou Lou will be back next month, as usual.
