Guardian gives two fingers to Oxford in latest uni rankings

The Guardian thinks you should have gone to St Andrew’s

In their latest University World Rankings, the Guardian has been accused of giving a massive snub to Oxford.

Not only did we place second to The Other Place in the league table, but the paper also puts Oxford below St Andrews for ‘value for money’.

Whilst Oxford scored 7.3 out of a possible 10 for value, the Scottish uni was awarded 7.7.

St Andrews- do you even have any quads?

The Guardian’s rankings measured unis for satisfaction with course, satisfaction with teaching, student to staff ratio and spend per student.

The rankings also gave top spots to unis Surrey (no, we hadn’t heard of it either) and Bath.

Overall Guardian Rankings

  • 1) Cambridge

  • 2) Oxford

  • 3) St Andrews

  • 4) Bath

  • 5) Imperial

  • 6) Surrey

One student told the Tab, “to say we’re worse than Cambridge is one thing, but to suggest that we should have gone to St Andrews is just a massive ‘fuck off’ from the Guardian”.
