Style Diaries – 3rd Week
Photo-journals from Oxford’s most stylish students.
This week’s Style Diaries features Tam Guobadia – second year Univ lawyer and vice president of The Oxford Cocktail Society. He says, “Personal style should be liberating and edifying, and I don’t believe in holding back”. Follow his style throughout third week as we upload a different look each day.
Monday
Tam starts the week with a colourful T-shirt and fun bowler hat. For a dinner at Malmaison, he wears a bespoke navy blue suit. He explains, ” I got this suit made in Nigeria where bespoke clothes can be made in good quality for a low budget”. Bringing his own twist to the look, he accessorizes with a golden Baroque print scarf and velvet loafers.
Tuesday
Tam calls this look ‘Triple Denim Tuesday’. The jeans take centre stage in both outfits. Throughout the day, Tam keeps the look subtle with a muted white and blue palette. For the evening, he’s ‘gone all out’ with a knock out blazer and print tie.
Wednesday
Tam’s casual day look shows that stash can be stylish- given the right pair of violet jeans. For an evening out at House cocktail bar, Tam wears a luxurious velvet blazer and a retro print snood- proving that a formal look can still look fun.
Thursday
Both of today’s looks are bold choices; from Day Glo during the day, to a Rocky Horror inspired outfit for Halloween. Tam says, “Halloween is the one day a year when a boy can dress up like a total slut and no other boys can say anything else about it”. Amen.
Friday
After a night out, Tam opts for a more subdued, laid back look. This simple yet striking colour blocking is perfect for a casual Friday. In the evening, Tam takes on the St. Catz bop theme “Unhappily Ever After!” as a Fallen Angel.
Saturday
Tam begins with weekend by dressing down in a simple outfit consisting of light blues and greys.
Sunday
In the day, Tam wears an American sports wear inspired look. For dinner and drinks, Tam dresses up in his “70’s Bond Villain Look”. He tells us about his love for the large lapels and explains how the look centres around the vintage jacket.
Thanks very much to Tam for sharing his style throughout 3rd week!
