High IQ = High sex drive?

Oxford comes 2nd in sex toy survey.

Work hard, play hard: Oxbridge students have been dubbed the horniest by new survey that shows more sex toys are bought by students at Oxford and Cambridge than any other university in the world.

Lovehoney.co.uk announced that Cambridge students spent £9,793 on sex toys and soft bondage last year, and Oxford came a close second, having spent £9,689. Best-selling products included rabbit vibrators and, despite sounding like a primary school delight, “jiggle-balls”, drastically increasing in popularity after being featured in 50 Shades of Grey.

Fun for all the family?

So does sex drive really correlate with intellect, or do Oxbridge students need more sexual outlets to de-stress?

Neal Slateford, the co-founder of Lovehoney says: ““It’s no bad thing if brainier people are randier but we tend to find that everyone in the UK has become far more interested and relaxed about sex – not just our friends at Oxford and Cambridge.”

A 19-year-old female student studying English at Oxford said: “When I came to university in Oxford, I was struck by how open everybody was about sex. Oxford sometimes has a bit of a stuffy, old-fashioned reputation but in terms of sexuality it’s very liberal.”

This comes after The Tab issued a survey announcing that 13% of students at Oxford are virgins, so it seems either you’re having loads, or none at all.

So if you’re in the library and you hear a prolonged vibration coming from the corner, it might just be a finalist letting off some steam…
