• Teddy Hall students defy boycott and leave copies of The Sun in JCR
Some feminists complain it “undermines what we’re trying to do”
JCR butler writes on the paper: “do not remove”

Students and staff at Teddy Hall have colluded to smuggle The Sun into the JCR, defying the college’s controversial boycott.

A copy of the tabloid was found among the usual daily pile of national newspapers, marked: “Derek’s copy – do not remove.” Derek is the college’s JCR Butler.

But The Tab understands it is students ferrying contraband copies of The Sun to the tit-starved men of Teddy Hall.

Terrifying: Message of shadowy gang leader ‘Derek S. Copy’ to those who would oppose him

Feminists are unimpressed despite the original motion making clear that “this is not a ban” and “members of the JCR are welcome to still read The Sun provided they don’t spend our funds on it.”

Members of the St. Edmund Hall feminist group Teddy Etc. have accused these rapscallions of “undermin[ing] what we’re trying to do” and of being “a bit cheeky”.

Facebook comments have taken particular offence at the positioning of The Sun.

One anonymous JCR member complained: “Page 3 is offensive, and JCR members shouldn’t have to have it presented to them in the JCR along with the other newspapers. We are singling out The Sun as an offensive paper and it shouldn’t be found in that pile until it changes Page 3.”

Perverse: the demeaning material acquired by aroused Aularians

Second year law student Michael Rundle told The Tab, “Yes, I know who’s behind it” but refused to spill.
