Turl Street Arts Festival Launch Night
What: There will be a spread of exciting sounds gracing the sticky floors of Cellar this week, with a Los Campesinos DJ set, Marvellous Medicine, Supermarket DJ set and the Death Shanties, who describe themselves as, ‘a new mixed media balls-to-the-wall Free Jazz group’. What’s not to like? Get down there.

ISIS presents: Art Around Us
What: ISIS magazine has got a spread of big cheeses in to talk on Art Around Us. Jonathan Jones is an art critic for the Guardian and has been on the jury for the Turner Prize, as has David Thorp. The third speaker Andrew Bick recently won the Henry Moore Institute Research Fellowship, so they know what they’re talking about.

The Mays Anthology present Prajwal Parajuly
What: The Mays (an anthology of new writing from Cambridge and Oxford) discovered Prajwal Parajuly. He is now the youngest writer ever to be signed to the Quercus publishing house, with his collection of short stories called The Gurkha’s Daughter. He will be reading extracts from this promising debut and answering questions down at the Albion Beatnik.
