Notts fresher tries to cross canal by scaling a bridge at Lenton pub, but falls in instead

I’m impressed he made it that far tbh

A Notts fresher has secured himself internet fame amassing a whopping four million views as he partook in a courageous attempt to cross the canal via the bridge at the Waters Edge pub in Lenton, using the gaps in the bridge as monkey bars to scale his way across the water.

The pub, which is known for its beaut views of Nottingham Marina at sunset, provided the perfect background to view the lad plunging into the freezing water.

Never mind what may be lurking in that water apart from the thousands of geese that terrorise the area, the most important thing for this boy was not to bottle it in front of the crowd of enthusiastic supporters.

I do commend his bravery, especially as the swan in the background of the video tried to flap its wings in an attempt scare him off, in a similar fashion to how the sports boys scare off the freshers at the first Crisis night.

The poor lad actually did quite well, I was semi-impressed. He managed to almost make it to safety before his hands gave way and he hit the water – hard.

Despite the endless laughter from his friends, the boy came out of the water with a smile on his face and a new viral video to brag about at pres. The video which was posted by LadBible to their 12.3 million Instagram following, has now been viewed a massive four million times. I don’t know if this is necessarily a good thing, but he seems chuffed.

Most of the comments on the videos were asking for the boy to be attacked by the nearby swan (mean but funny) and blaming the incident on not doing enough pull ups in the gym (just mean), but it’s guaranteed that this won’t be forgotten in a while.

He seemed to be in good spirits after falling in, despite being absolutely soaking wet he triumphantly raised his arms towards the screaming crowd, who had whipped out their phones quickly to capture his downfall. Personally, I would have taken my shoes off prior to the attempt.

Perhaps it would have been more impressive if he had managed to get across with a pint in one hand. The shirt and jean combo truly makes this video, easiest way to spot a sports lads.
