Nottingham to go into second tier of new lockdown system
Household mixing is now banned
Summer GoodkindBoris Johnson has just announced that Nottinghamshire will go into the second highest tier of the UK’s new lockdown system, due to rising coronavirus cases.
The high level, he says, aims to reduce household-to-household transmission by preventing all mixing between different households or support bubbles, indoors.
Currently, Nottingham is the worst-hit part of the country, with coronavirus cases climbing even higher to 750 cases per 100,000 people, data released on Friday shows.
At the start of September, Nottingham’s Covid case rate per 100,000 people was just 12.
A pre-emptive poll on the Nottingham Tab’s Instagram also revealed that 53% of Notts students think that Nottingham should go into a local lockdown, amid these rising cases.
